Chinese electronic manufacturer, Xiaomi announced the availability of its virtual reality headset ‘Mi VR Play’ in India at a cost of one rupee less to the thousand.

In the subcontinent, the headset is available to the customers from twelve noon on next Wednesday i.e., 21st December on the company’s website, Mi.com. Currently, the headset is out of stock even on the site for rest of the Indian customers.

The VR headset from the Chinese company supports the different company smartphones that vary the screen size with a range of 4.7 to 5.7 inch. Its Lycra fabric which is light in weight acts as a skin friendly and doesn’t cause any discomfort.

The company stated that their new headset can easily fit Mi Note and iPhone 6 along with its successor iPhone 6 Plus.

Coming to the physical aspects, the Mi VR Play is 201 x 107 x 91mm in dimensions and weighs 208 grams excluding its straps.

This is the basic product in VR headset from the company and certified to work with apps from Google Cardboard.

The headset runs on Google Cardboard platform to give an immersive virtual reality experience.

The company for the first in the country introduced live streaming application to support VR live stream with Mi Live. The app is currently available in Google Play Store for downloads.

Xiaomi said about the new Mi Live app that it is a live streaming app with locally sourced content and it is open to view hosts from across the nation.
