Amazon launched a new prime photos feature called ‘Family Vault’, extending benefit to family members of the main account holder. With this feature, an Amazon prime member will have the opportunity to invite upto 5 family members or friends in order to join their online account. This is to combine photos and take advantage of free photo storage, as well as another 5GB for videos and other files.
“Prime members love the benefit of unlimited photo storage, but often struggle to collect and organize photos across multiple devices and accounts into a single, shareable archive,” explained Amazon’s director of Prime Photos David Nenke.
He also noted that they have launched the new upgrade feature ‘Family Vault’ in order to ease family members to safely store and share all their favorite moments.
A spokesperson from company told VentureBeat that initially Prime members used the Prime photos service inorder to store their photos and video. With this new feature, they are expecting prime members are their friends/family included in the Vault and can able to share photos with each other, and also link with social media.
This new feature that comes with no extra cost implements smart search technology and it allows members to seek for pictures depending on a specific person, date, or place. And they could even search for various terms to seek for relevant pictures, and even order cards, photo books, and prints directly from their account.
Also, it includes an extra 5GB of storage for videos and other files where they can be customized to automatically add any kind of new photos to the Vault.
